Bathroom Renovation – 3 Bathrooms in Ballincollig.
For this project, we worked closely with our client to transform their outdated bathrooms into modern, stylish, and highly functional spaces. The renovation involved a complete overhaul, including new pipework, fixtures, tiling, and layout.
Scope of Work:
Demolition & Preparation: We were lucky on this one where our client had most of the ripping out done for us so it was mainly just doing the final disconnect and blanking of the original plumbing fixtures to begin with. We came back post ripout to start first fixing our pipework.
For the main bathroom - the location of the toilet was changed from straight inside the door to the left hand wall as you enter to allow for the vanity unit to be seen instead of the toilet as you climb the stairs approaching the bathroom. The original bath was replaced with a low profile slate tray. The plasterboard was left in a rough enough state and the decision was made to rip it off completely and reslab the room - a delight to the tiler. The stack outside was redone to allow for the connection of the new toilet waste pipe following the toilets repositioning.
For the ensuite the location of the toilet and shower were reversed to allow for a longer shower tray without encroaching on the doorway. The sink remained in the same location. A new waste pipe for the toilet was ran from the new toilet location under the floor out into the bedroom and down the length of the ensuite and back in to tie back to the original 4” as the joists were running the wrong way to go directly across the ensuite. The decision was made to go without a shower door for the ensuite so the length of the tray was utilised to avoid water spraying as far back as the tiled floor which has kept the ensuite as a nice open room.
The downstairs W/C was ripped out with the W/C and sink staying in the same position but pipework changed to suit the new vanity and to allow a fully shrouded toilet to be used.
Plumbing & Fixtures: We installed new pipework, modernized connections and installed a booster pump feeding the hots and colds to the bathrooms in the house to ensure maximum benefit from the modern bathrooms. The client opted for sleek, water-efficient fixtures, including a floor standing vanity, rainfall style tbar showers, and stylish slate shower trays.
Tiling & Finishes: High-quality tiles were chosen for both the floor and walls, creating a seamless, contemporary look. The design featured a beautiful combination of neutral tones with a pop of accented accessories and trims for added depth and style.
Custom Details: Black accessories were used to great effect to contrast from the neutral tiles. Additional finishing touches include the black pop wastes and flush buttons on the toilets. The finish on the rainfall shower is brushed gun metal which ties in beautifully with the asthetic of the bathroom while providing it’s own unique characteristics.
Result: The final result is 3 beautifully renovated bathrooms that combine luxury and practicality. The client was thrilled with the enhanced functionality, modern aesthetic, and the high-quality workmanship that made their dream bathrooms a reality.
